Wednesday, September 18...

The south end roofs are being worked on.  Lower levels are almost complete.
The weather changed every minute...

Putting in some overtime.
God's promise.
Working on finishing the lower level roof on the S end of the church.

Lucky day for this one!  Her turn to come work at the church with Dad.
A crane was needed to set beams.
The start of getting those beams placed in the center of church. These beams are huge!

Apparently Pete thinks he's a monkey. :-) (crawling his way up the steel beam)

Getting the beam situated just perfectly.

Seriously?! My heart failure syndrome kicked in a few different times throughout this evening!

Securing the beam.

Always someone checking out the progress.

Working on getting the S end roof framed up and ready for sheeting.

It's quite the process getting these beams in place.

There goes Pete again thinking he's Curious George.

Crane operator.

Guiding the strap on the beam.

Sun is out once again.

Setting the beams on the N side of the church.

Supposedly this is the only way of  putting these beams in?!  Standing way up on a 20 or 30 ft wall while the beam is swinging about. Whew, glad I don't have to do this!

Looks like another thunderstorm is moving in.

You can get a little idea about how tall this N end wall is that they are setting a beam on.  Yikes!

What a great place to rest. (especially with lightning in the area) jk

Crane operator testing his balancing skills.

Getting the last beam set.

Time to crane the trusses up on the roof.  ( Our weather this last month or more, is similar to the rainiest spot on earth)

Boys had fun with the mud.

Beams are in place,  more work awaits.

Monday, September 16th...

That huge steel contraption was put in last week.  With that in place, supporting beams can get put in and other work can start.
That huge beam went up, along with a roof.  SE corner of church.

Now that the steel stuff is in, the trusses are slowly being cut out.  This will open up the ceiling.

It definitely makes the church seem bigger and more spacious, without those trusses in.

Load after load of lumber being brought to the burn pile.

Cheerful workers!

Cutting 2x6's for the new roof.

Hoping the demolition above, doesn't come and whack him on the head.

Securing beams.

Demo crew.

Crew leaders figuring out stuff.

Preparing to weather proof the new roof over the south east side of the church.

Start of some plumbing.

More of the demo crew.  Yikes! Ladders on top of  scaffolding.  Sketchy if you ask me. :-)

Giving out direction to the boys...

Pipes being placed about 5 feet under.

Getting those trenches dug for more water/sewer pipes.

Busy bees.

Observers...

Watching and learning.

Some folks are quite energetic about helping. :-)

A decent wood pile on the property, from all the tree trimming.

Sunset...

Beam is in, now to start framing the roof.

Our soon to be parking lot...

Look at all the progress!

See that steel part in front of Pete, that's new.  Now the beams, framing, roofs can all start happening.
p.s. Those ladders they are standing on, are not short! Watching them wibble wobble on the tops of those, nearly makes a person's heart stop!

Starting the framing on the roof over the south west side of the church.

Love all the little piles of tools around the property.

Getting that weatherproofing stuff on the roof.

It's not all work.  Plenty of play goes on too.

Workers of all ages.  So fun!

Sun down.

Looks very level...

A few more minutes of work left in the day.
